After the arrest of Capt (retd) Safdar by Sindh Police in Karachi, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said: “instead of trying to blackmail me, arrest me if you have the guts.”

Addressing a press conference in Karachi along with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and senior PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf, she said, “IG Sindh was forced to sign warrants before the arrest.”

She said she didn’t think even for a single moment that the Sindh government was involved in the arrest of Captain Safdar.

Maryam Nawaz explained the details of Capt (R) Safdar’s arrest and said, “After the Fajr prayers in the morning, we were asleep. It was about 6:15 when someone was knocking on our door and. The police were standing outside and they said that we are here to arrest Safdar.

They forcibly broke down the door and entered and arrested him.

Note that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (R) Safdar has been produced before City Court.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (R) Safdar was produced before court after he was arrested by police for violating the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid.

PML-N lawyers have prepared papers stating that the case against Capt (R) Safdar is based on malice.

It may be recalled that Captain (R) Safdar was arrested in the case of violating the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid. Captain (R) Safdar was arrested from a private hotel.  PML-N leader Capt. Safdar addressed the supporters in Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum with his shoes on.
