Mayor Stun Chaudhary Mohammad Sadiq has criticized the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)’s decision on banning BOL News.
According to the details, Mayor Stun Chaudhary Sadiq in his message said that not only me but millions of people globally are protesting against the ban on BOL News by PEMRA.
He further appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan to take serious notice over this matter as the news channel is being punished for telling the truth.
Earlier, a protest was staged in front of PEMRA’s head office in Karachi against the closure of BOL News broadcasting by PEMRA.
Addressing the protest, senior journalist Nazir Leghari said that Imran Khan’s government has destroyed journalists. Thousands of journalists were financially killed in two years.
More than 13,000 journalists have lost their jobs this year. PTI’s spokesperson Shibli Faraz should let the channels run instead of locking the tongues of media persons.
Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Secretary Faheem Siddiqui had said that sometimes the channels are suddenly shut down by PEMRA, while sometimes people are pressured to evacuate. The government should focus on its actions, he said.
