Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that action will be taken against those involved in the petrol crisis.

According to details, the meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan convened.

The investigation report on the petroleum crisis was presented before the federal cabinet and the recommendations of the inquiry committee were discussed in the meeting.

The Prime Minister set up a committee to review the recommendations of the inquiry report. The committee includes Shafqat Mahmood, Shireen Mazari and Asad Umar.

The Attorney General briefed the Cabinet on legal matters. The Cabinet was also briefed on the provision of funds and resources to the provinces by the Federal Ministry of Finance. The Cabinet was also briefed on the Ehsas Kafalat survey and Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Sources said that the committee report on the use of the Metropolitan Club building in F-Nine Park has been postponed.

The sources further said that the appointment of CEO of Ignite, a subsidiary of the IT Ministry, has been approved. Permanent MDs of Sui Northern and Southern Gas companies and CEOs of power distribution companies were also appointed.

Sources said that the cabinet has appointed members of the board of directors of the Public-Private Partnership Authority. The reconstitution of the Board of Trustees of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution was also approved.

Sources said that the cabinet meeting also approved the appointment of community welfare attaches in Pakistan missions abroad.

The Prime Minister hinted at taking action against the companies involved in the petrol crisis and said that action would be taken against those involved in the crisis.

Sources said that action will be taken after final recommendations are received.
