Spotify will be releasing its updated WearOS app in the coming weeks. The company said that it will support offline playback features on smartwatches running WearOS 2.0 and up.

This feature was introduced alongside the news of Google and Samsung collaboration to release a new OS for smartwatches, WearOS 3.

The music service company said that the new feature is not limited to WearOS 3 only, as the minimum requirement for the upcoming update is WearOS 2.

On the other hand, the YouTube Music WearOs app is exclusive to WearOS 3 only.

The offline feature was made available on Apple Watch in May this year. Similarly, Spotify said you will be able to listen to music offline only when you have the subscription. Free users can only listen in shuffle mode over WiFi or cellular.
