An Afghan health official and a Taliban official said that 72 Afghans were killed in the attack at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Among 72, as claimed by the officials, 28 of them were Taliban members. Though later the Taliban official denied that any of their members has been killed in the attack.

Further, the US Central Command said that 13 American soldiers were also killed while 18 of them were wounded. The wounded were then evacuated for the US on C-17 aircraft with necessary surgical supplies.

Afghan cricket all-rounder Rashid Khan took it to Twitter saying, “Kabul is bleeding again. STOP KILLING AFGHAN PLEASE.”

Later the media reported that the Islamic State (Khorasan) factions have taken the responsibility for the attack.

Before that, a US official believed that an ISIS group could be behind this attack.
