Pakistan assures CIA chief of cooperation for prosperous Afghanistan

Pakistan on Thursday assured United States CIA chief William Joseph Burns of its commitment to cooperate with its international partners for a prosperous Afghanistan, said the Inter Services Public Relations.

A statement issued by the ISPR said that the CIA director had called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid during a trip to Pakistan.

The military’s media wing shared that the CIA chief with the COAS and DG ISI discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and current situation in Afghanistan.

“It was reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to cooperate with its international partners for peace in the region and ensuring a stable and prosperous future for Afghan people,” read the statement of the ISPR.

The ISPR shared that the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation including successful evacuation operations, efforts for regional stability. He also pledged to play their role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
