Rasool Pur: Small village in Northern Punjab with 100% literacy rate
Rasool Pur, a small village in the rural reaches of northern Punjab, is renowned to have a 100 percent literacy rate and is thought to be Pakistan’s only village with a 0% crime rate.
The village, which has a population of 3000 people, was created in 1933 when people migrated from Baluchistan. The majority of its citizens are ethnic Balochs whose forefathers migrated from Pakistan’s Balochistan province to Southern Punjab. It is situated in the district of Rajanpur.
When residents moved to this town, two primary schools were erected right away. Both men and women are equally literate in the village.
Villagers have established a development department, and their roads and sewerage systems are adequately maintained.
According to the Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement Survey, the population’s literacy rate has been stable at 60% in 2019-20 since 2014-15.
All women are educated, and it is worth noting that the Rasool Pur police station has not seen a single criminal case in nearly a century.
