Amazon offers in-store pickup options for orders from other retailers
Amazon, the e-commerce giant is now offering an opportunity to third-party retailers to sign up to Amazon and sell to its customers. Being a B2B and B2C marketplace, Amazon’s local selling opportunity promotes SMEs and offers them a chance to generate larger revenues remaining under Amazon’s brand name and sharing its customers through the company’s store and delivery services both.
Products available for pick-up will have a separate page. Once an order is placed, the customer will receive a notification instantly, he can then visit the nearby store to pick-up his order in person within the five days after order placement.
Moreover, Amazon is sharing its delivery services with local retailers to entertain its customers as well.
“Our research shows that many customers will opt for local pickup when given the choice. This new capability is an exciting way to help sellers reach and delight more customers with great products and convenience,” claimed Jim Adkins, vice-president for a certain category at Amazon.
After companies, for instance Walmart and Target, Amazon is the next one to launch such services. The e-commerce leader’s strategy to opt this tool will help customers stick to its own website rather than other retailers’.
