Apple announced the new models of the MacBook Pro. It comes in two models, a 16-inch model and a 14-inch model.

The new models feature many changes, including new design and displays, the connectivity, the battery, and the most important is the introduction of the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets.

The new MacBook Pro has a design similar to the previous models in a way the aluminium shell is curved around the sides. Apple is bringing back the old design to the MacBook series just like they brought back flat sides in iPhone and iPad models.

The MacBook Pro has an all-new keyboard with a black background. The keyboard now has the old function keys instead of the Touch Bar.

The 2021 pro models come in two displays. The 16-inch model has a 16.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 3456×2234. The 14-inch model has a 14.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 3024×1964.

Both the models have a fluid screen refresh rate of 120Hz, 1600 nits peak brightness, 1000 nits sustained brightness, and full Display-P3 wide colour coverage. Both panels also support HDR.

Apple has also reduced the bezels and introduced a notch at the top with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. The MacOS has been tailored according to the new design.

The new MacBook Pro also comes with a six-speaker sound system, which includes two tweeters and four force-cancelling woofers. Dolby Atmos spatial audio is now supported by the speakers. In comparison to the previous generation, the new machine also has “studio-quality” microphones with a lower noise floor.

The new models run on Apple’s latest M1 Pro and M1 Max SoC processors. The 14-inch model features an M1 Pro chip, but you can configure it with the M1 Max chip on the company’s website during purchasing. The 16-inch model has two options, either M1 Pro or M1 Max. You can select it according to your taste. Further configuration can be done on the website.

With the introduction of the new chips, the M1 Pro model can have up to 32GB of unified memory while the M1 Max model can have up to 64GB of unified memory. Since the memory is unified, you will get both the system and graphics memory in the same chip.

The Pro models feature the SSD with read speeds up to 7.4GB/s. The storage can be configured ranging from 512GB to 8TB.

Apple MacBook Pro will have a full-size HDMI port and a full-size SDXC card slot joining the three USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. It also features a 3.5mm headphones jack.

Apple also brought back the MagSafe with which the MacBook Pro can be fast-charged.

The M1 Pro MacBook Pro can support up to two 6K Pro Display XDR at the same time thanks to all of the ports and better graphics, while the M1 Max can support three 6K Pro Display XDR as well as a 4K display.

The battery life on the new MacBook Pro has also been increased. The 16-inch device can go up to 21 hours of video playback and 14 hours of web browsing. Meanwhile, the 14-inch model can play videos for 17 hours and surf the web for 11 hours.

If you acquire a model with the 8-core CPU M1 Pro, you’ll get a 67W USB-C charger, but if you get any of the other CPU versions, you’ll get a 96W USB-C charger. In the box, you’ll find a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable (2m).

The 14-inch MacBook Pro costs $1,999, while the 16-inch costs $2,499, according to Apple. They’re available to order now on Apple’s online shop, and they’ll arrive and be available in stores on Tuesday, October 26.
