In the wake of current Facebook-Haugen controversy, the employee turned whistleblower, Frances Haugen has been called on to testify before the parliamentary committee on Monday. The whistleblower is all set to provide evidence in the form of leaked documents, scrutinizing the online safety bill. The bills provided by the former employee will then help lawmakers to introduce new rules.

Frances Haugen has been called on to testify the same day Facebook will be making its earnings public.

After appearing in the US Senate earlier this month for testifying against Facebook’s unethical motives, she will now be appearing again but this time before UK. Haugen asked US lawmakers for a federal regulator to supervise the activities of leading social media companies like Facebook just like EU does.

As per the UK laws, the Silicon Valley companies are heavily penalized for such violations, as they are forced to pay a hefty fine of up to 10% of their global income.
