LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has demanded extension in filing income tax returns till December 31, 2021, a statement said.

LCCI president Mian Nauman Kabir, senior vice president Rehman Aziz Chan and vice president Haris Ateeq said that a large number of businessmen could not file tax return due to the pandemic, trade bodies’ elections and difficulties in using the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) online system.

They said the extension in the date was in the interest of the government. The LCCI office-bearers said the extension in the date would help the government achieve revenue collection targets and build trust of the private sector.
