A self-taught Pakistani sportsman, Farhan Ayub, sees the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a potential “sports corridor.”

Ayub has broken 21 Guinness World Records in different categories, including kick-ups, no-handed kick-ups, break-dance, helicopter spin, spoons twisting, and balloon bursting. He now sets his eyes on breaking more records.

The athlete expects the CPEC to promote the exchanges between the sportsmen of the two countries. He wishes to break two American world records in China as an ambassador of Pakistan.

“In the future, I want to break two American world records of spoon twisting, and I wish to break these records in China to earn recognition for Pakistan. As an ambassador of Pakistan, I want to go to China and break these world records over there as I like China a lot,” Ayub said.

Sharing the experience of travelling on the Chinese built Orange Line Train in Lahore, Ayub said he was “extremely happy” that the metro train had started in the city.

The Orange Line Train was a tremendous gift for Pakistanis from China, said Guinness record-holder. He believed the Pak-China friendship was amazing. “Long live Pakistan-China Friendship.”

“I’m of the view that the China-Pakistan friendship is already very strong, and it could further get more strength. Like “the CPEC is not just for the business community. I see the CPEC as an opportunity for the sportsmen too,” added Ayub.

Ayub continued that the Chinese sportsmen could come to Pakistan, and Pakistani sportsmen could go there. “This way, the CPEC could become a huge opportunity for the sportsmen as well,” said an optimistic Ayub.
