Soldier martyred in attack on security forces near Pak-Iran border

A soldier embraced martyrdom in an attack on a patrolling party of security forces in the Panjgur area of Balochistan, said the military’s media wing on Monday.

“A group of terrorists, in a cowardly attack, targeted a patrolling party of security forces in Panjgur area, along the Pakistan-Iran border,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said that during the heavy exchange of fire Sepoy Jalil Khan, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, war martyred.

“Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to defeat such acts of inimical elements, aimed at disrupting peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” said the ISPR.

Earlier this month, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the Hoshab area, Balochistan.

“On November 13, based on intelligence about the presence of externally supported terrorists in surroundings of Turbat, security forces conducted an operation in Hoshab area, Balochistan,” said the ISPR. During the operation the security forces became “surrounded” which resulted in an “engagement” that caused heavy losses to the terrorists, it added.

“During the engagement, two soldiers, Sepoy Ramzan resident of Sargodha district and Lance Naik Liaqat lqbal resident of Swabi district sacrificed their lives fighting valiantly,” said the ISPR.
