A new television commercial for a fizzy drink is making rounds on social media. Throughout the T20 World Cup, the TVC will be broadcast live on TV and digital channels.
The TVC (television commercial) begins with a girl eating biryani, followed by her pet parrot biting a chilly from her plate. Then, all of a sudden, she shoves a spoon of rice into her mouth, and due to the excess chilly, they both begin to feel chili burns in their mouths. The commercial then moves on to the branding of the drink.
The critics argue that parrots are used to eating chilies and are immune to them, but the narrative board for this ad shows that the parrot is experiencing chili burn in its mouth and needs a drink, leading to the endorsement of the brand’s product. The best part about this commercial is that it appears to look like a Jumanji trailer more rather than just a typical television commercial.
The way the music was added and the general tone of the ad was set, from beginning to the end, it appeared as if this was the trailer for the forthcoming Jumanji film. Surprisingly, this turned out to be an advertisement for a fizzy drink. Perhaps there is some relevance because other drinks are also attempting to put the ‘ooh’ factor into their advertising and making sense while viewers are left bewildered.
