After cheating on his pregnant wife and composing a list of reasons to leave her, a Missouri jury found him guilty of killing her.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Beau Rothwell was found guilty on Thursday of tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse, in addition to a first-degree murder allegation.

Beau, 31, admitted to killing his wife, Jennifer Rothwell, during his trial, but claimed the crime was not premeditated and asked for a lower manslaughter charge. During a furious dispute over his involvement with another woman, the Creve Coeur homeowner confessed that he struck his 28-year-old wife of four years to death with a mallet at their house on November 11, 2019.

Her severely battered body was discovered approximately a week after she went missing. Beau stated that he smacked his six-week-pregnant wife in the head with a mallet from behind, then pursued her as she stumbled toward the garage door and hit her again.

Beau will be sentenced on July 8 and faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors painted the killer as a meticulous plotter, displaying his messages with the other lady as well as a list of benefits and drawbacks he created for leaving his wife. On November 12, 2019, he reported his wife missing.

Beau was captured on film buying cleaning supplies, including bleach and gloves, one day before his wife vanished, according to police. Later, police discovered bleach bottles and a bloodstained carpet in the house. The blood was proven to be his wife’s by investigators. Jennifer went missing after searching “what to do if your spouse is furious you are pregnant” on her phone, according to authorities.

Beau was apprehended just hours after pleading for assistance on social media.

“Some of you may already know, but my wife Jennifer went missing last night,” he said on Facebook. “I’ve filed a police report, and the investigation is still on.” Please, if you hear of anything or have any information, please let me know.”

He was arrested in 2019 on suspicion of tampering with evidence, but the charges were raised to murder after detectives utilized DNA samples from Jennifer’s parents to establish the blood found inside the house was hers.
