According to recently released court documents, the suspected killer of married New York City mom Orsolya Gaal told police that Gaal gave him HIV and that’s why he showed up at her house the morning of the murder. “She was cheating on me with someone, and she gave me HIV,” David Bonola reportedly confessed to Detective John Petzolt five days after the April 16 murder of Gaal in the basement of her opulent Forest Hills home. Bonola, 44, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Queens Supreme Court to a 13-count indictment for the heinous homicide, which included counts of murder, burglary, and concealing of a human corpse.

Prosecutors claim that Bonola, the family’s handyman, sliced Gaal’s neck and stabbed her more than 50 times in her home’s basement after she ended their two-year relationship. Her 13-year-old son was sound sleeping in an upstairs bedroom, while her husband and 17-year-old son were away exploring colleges.

According to the petition, Bonola told the detective at the 112th Precinct, “She lied to me, and she used me.” “She told me she loved me but couldn’t be with just one person. She took another guy’s phone call and stated she was going to visit him. That infuriated me. I couldn’t take it. Then I noticed her with another guy, Carlos.”

Bonola, a Mexican national who has been in the country illegally for more than two decades, acknowledged surprising Gaal at her house between midnight and 4 a.m. on April 16 and accusing her of infecting him with the illness.

“She stated she didn’t have HIV,” he said to the detective. “She informed me she didn’t want anything to do with me and that she didn’t want to see me anymore.

” He said the 51-year-old mother of two seized a knife and threatened to murder him if he didn’t leave her house — but he resisted.

“She kept yelling I hate you and stabbed me in the left hand,” he told police of the wound, which he subsequently treated at Bellevue Hospital. “I took the knife and slashed her around the neck.”

As the two struggled and fell to the ground, Bonola said he sliced her repeatedly.

“She continued moving, so I stabbed her,” he reportedly confessed to Assistant District Attorney Peter McCormack on April 20, repeating many of the horrific details. “I observed a lot of blood flowing out of her neck, and she stopped breathing.”

The deranged handyman claimed he used towels to mop up the blood on the floors and walls before stuffing her corpse inside a hockey duffel bag with wheels belonging to one of her adolescent boys. “I didn’t want her children to locate her,” he explained to officials.
