According to an arrest warrant issued on Friday, Connecticut lacrosse player James McGrath was tragically stabbed in the heart outside a high school party in Shelton last week. Raul Eliah Valle, 16, of Milford, has been charged with one count of murder and two charges of first-degree assault for allegedly killing McGrath, 17, and others outside a house party with around 50 people on May 14. Valle attends Trumbull’s St. Joseph High School, which is close to Fairfield College Preparatory School, where McGrath was a junior.
“They were quite pleasant. The children are kind and respectful “The suspect and his family was described by Valle’s neighbor to Fox News Digital. “It’s difficult to believe.”
According to a St. Joseph’s spokesman, Valle was in good academic standing and had not been involved in any fights at school prior to the May 14 incident. Police arrived at “many 911 calls indicating a brawl” outside the party on Laurel Glen Drive in Shelton just before midnight on Saturday and discovered numerous victims on the front lawn. According to the warrant, the owner of the apartment where the party was held was present at the time of the occurrence.
According to the report, “several witnesses indicated that three to four persons who were not invited to the party came and departed a dark-colored Honda SUV.” “Witnesses also indicated that after the individuals departed the car, there was a violent brawl on the front lawn with much male participation.”
According to witnesses, there were around 25 persons involved in the brawl in the front yard of the property at one time. The report names at least three adolescent suspects. One person is suspected of carrying a knife. At least four people were stabbed, including McGrath. “[T]here was one stab wound to the left side of the chest,” according to the warrant. “The stab wound penetrated the rib and the heart.”
A doctor from Connecticut’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner informed police that there were around 1.8 liters of blood in McGrath’s lungs. James McGrath, 17, was stabbed to death while at a home party over the weekend. He was a junior at Connecticut’s Fairfield College Preparatory School.
The same witness informed police that following the confrontation on Laurel Glen Drive, her sister offered Valle a ride home, however, he did not mention the conflict throughout the journey. The warrant claims that when she learned about the incident later and texted Valle about it, he denied having stabbed anybody.
Valle’s defense attorney, Jake Donovan, told reporters outside a Derby courthouse on Friday that he will not comment until he is able to “review all of the facts in the case.”
The obituary describes Jim as “a tremendously joyful person with a large heart who was a caring friend to many.” “He adored Fairfield Prep, and he excelled as an athlete in every sport he pursued.” He played football and lacrosse for Fairfield Prep, as well as Shelton and the Connecticut Wolves as a kid. He knew what it meant to be a team player.”
