The district administration raised an objection that the PTI organisers did not seek permission from the CTI Ground’s owners for holding its public gathering at the venue in Sialkot.

The admin officials said that permission will not be granted for the public gathering at the private property without the owners’ permission.

The political party has been asked to change the venue of its public gathering from the CTI ground to Government Murray College Ground or Sports Gymnasium Pasrur Road.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court on Friday directed the deputy commissioner of Sialkot to decide an application of a private education institute against the use of its ground by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for its May 14 public meeting without permission.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh issued the direction on a petition by Samson Jacob, a representative of Presbyterian Education Board of Sialkot.

The petitioner through a counsel contended before the court that the PTI announced to hold its public meeting on May 14 in the ground of the board. He said the board had no intimation from the government or the party nor it permitted anyone to hold political rallies in its ground.

The counsel asked the court to restrain the government from allowing the PTI from holding its meeting in the ground of the board. He said if the PTI was not barred other parties would also hold political rallies in the ground, which would affect the privacy of the minority education board.

A provincial law officer told the court that no permission had been granted to the PTI by the district administration to hold the public meeting in the ground of the Presbyterian board.

At this, the judge disposed of the petition and directed the deputy commissioner of Sialkot to decide an application of the petitioner organisation against the use of its ground within a day.
