In answer to a few inquiries, The performer of Teri Qasam recalled, “In 2020, I initiated a programme called Idol Online which was executed during the pandemic era and everyone was home so I thought why not start an online talent hunt. I was judging the show alongside Ali Zafar, Umair Jaswal and Ahmed Jahanzaib and within a week we received over 5,000 auditions. I didn’t even have a website or portal that could support that many clips.”

“The girl who won that talent hunt went on to perform in Kashmir Beats with me. I produced some of her music and today, she is making a name for herself.” the Funn Mitti Se performer, who was overjoyed, continued.

Haider had to decide whether to create a “real TV show” due to the initiative’s tremendous response and a lack of resources “because working with a brand would have diverted the platform from its intended course. The Mumkin composer clarified his position by saying that he doesn’t dislike branded shows or popstars, especially because he has frequently partnered with and benefited from them.

It is “very easy” to become a sensation overnight, according to the Kya Ho Gaya Hai singer, but talent alone may go a long way. Has Pakistan produced a successor to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Abida Parveen? Yes, it has many stars, but has anyone like Mehdi Hassan been there?” he questioned. The Dil Bhara Nahi singer wants to create a platform-turned-institution that caters to artists specifically for this reason.

The singer for Baghi said, “We don’t have the institutions and platforms that create artists. Idol Online will help me develop artists and use music to improve the lives of young people.

The singer of Sab Jag Soye remarked, “Pakistan needs more artists and fewer stars. The problem in Pakistan is that the brands get to decide who the artist is. And I’m very much against that. If somebody is famous, it doesn’t mean their work is the best. Brands fail to understand music and its intricacies.”

The Baanware singer discussed his project Idol Online and revealed that 12,000 video were sent in just two days following his call for submissions. With regard to this, Haider added, “We are holding auditions in two stages. The online auditions come first. These auditions will be shortlisted for a second round of live, in-person auditions in Lahore. Since I don’t believe in competition in music, all 20 of the candidates who made the shortlist will be accommodated there after training.

“The artists will be legally obligated for one to two years. Our target release date is February, and auditions will close on November 10,” Haider added. The singer of Tum Mere Hi Rehna informed that his brothers will be sitting with him as judges.

The Khaki Banda singer is well known for his successful runs in Coke Studio. He is the grandson of the great musician Ustad Master Sadiq Ali (1935-1984).

Mere Maula, Alif, Jeena, Safina, Baanware, Main Urra, Mumkin, and Udikan Laiyan Mein are some of Haider’s most recent works. Want You Back, Pyar Nai Fir Kerna, Tu Hi Zindagi, Shad Rahe Pakistan, and Nawazishein Karam are examples of songs in this category.
