In a significant move to enhance public transportation, the Sindh government has introduced the “People’s Bus Service” in Karachi. This initiative aims to transform commuting for residents, offering comfortable and affordable travel. The service includes air-conditioned red buses with around 40 seats and designated areas for women. The standard fare for most routes is PKR 50, except for Route 9, which charges PKR 100 after Malir Halt.
The People’s Bus Service operates from 7 am to 10 pm daily, with buses arriving every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. Route 11, covering 19 kilometers from Shireen Jinnah Colony to Miran Nakka Lyari, is a crucial part of this service, connecting key city landmarks.
Route 11 spans through Bilawal Chowrangi, Khadda Market, Eidgah Clifton, PIDC, US Consulate General, and more, offering efficient connectivity. This initiative is designed to make commuting in Karachi more efficient, comfortable, and affordable, focusing on enhancing the transportation system and leaving a positive impact on the city. The People’s Bus Service marks a step toward a more connected and accessible Karachi for its residents.
