Nine Pakistani laborers brutally killed in Saravan city of Iran
QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen killed nine Pakistani laborers in the Saravan area of Sistan Province, Iran, an Iranian news agency confirmed on Saturday.
Iranian news agency Meher, unknown armed men killed Pakistani workers in the city of Saravan in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan, which is adjacent to the Pakistani border.
A local Baloch rights group says that three more people were injured in the incident and the dead and injured were Pakistani laborers who worked at a local workshop and lived there.
According to Meher Agency, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
Five people killed in firing in Iran belong to Alipur Tehsil of Muzaffargarh South Punjab , including 2 brothers.
The relatives of the deceased persons contacted the Assistant Commissioner(AC) Alipur and demanded that the relatives should be helped in bringing the dead bodies.
The families of the dead laborers said that the two dead laborers belonged to Galewal in the Lodhran area, Zubair, a resident of Lodhran, and his nephew Abu Bakr had gone to Iran for work.
On the other hand, Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Mudassar Tipu also confirmed the killing of nine Pakistani laborers in the incident and said that he is deeply shocked by the horrific killing of nine Pakistanis in Saravan.
He said that the Pakistani embassy will fully support the bereaved families while the Pakistani consul general in Zahedan has visited the accident site and the hospital.
The Pakistani ambassador said that he has demanded full cooperation from Iran on the killing of Pakistanis.
It should be noted that after the invasion of Pakistan by Iran, the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Iran were completely restored a couple of days ago.
