Punjab Home Department bans meetings with PTI founder in Jail
RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Home Department has imposed a ban on meetings with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
According to sources, the Punjab Home Department has decided to ban meetings with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, which will last for 2 weeks while media coverage is also prohibited in front of Adiala Jail’s gate no.
The jail administration had reserved Tuesday and Thursday for meetings with Imran Khan.
On the other hand, the police have also banned media coverage outside the Adiala Jail. Police put up barriers at the parking of media vehicles outside Adiala Jail Gate No. 5.
Police have issued instructions to the media that the media is not allowed to cover today, the media teams should move 2 km away from the jail.
Last week, Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police foiled an attempt to attack Adiala jail and arrested three terrorists with explosives and the jail map.
The law enforcers conducted IBO after they received information about the presence of the terrorists in the area.
Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted permission to Firdous Shamim Naqvi, a member of the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to meet the PTI founder at Adiala Jail.
