Today, Balochistan is expecting a significant series of rainstorms, with forecasts indicating rainfall in 22 districts of the region. Additionally, high-altitude areas like Ziarat, Quetta, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, and Qila Saifullah may also experience snowfall.
Earlier this week, Dalbandin, a town in Balochistan, faced heavy rainfall, which caused widespread damage. The downpour resulted in flooding, making the national highway inaccessible and leaving many vehicles stranded.
The floodwaters ruthlessly inundated residential areas, causing the unfortunate collapse of several mud houses. Residents experienced a double blow as the flood also disrupted the Quetta-Taftan train service, with waterlogging on the railway tracks.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for today, predicting rain and potential snowfall in Upper Sindh, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas.
As the weather undergoes a significant change, residents are encouraged to take essential precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates. This evolving weather situation highlights the importance of having resilient infrastructure and efficient disaster management strategies in place to minimize the effects of such natural disasters.
