The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast warning, indicating heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across the country from April 23 to 29.

Punjab Braces for Heavy Rainfall

Punjab is gearing up for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms during this period, particularly from April 23 to 29. Intermittent rainfall is predicted from April 24 to 27, impacting cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Sialkot.

Impact on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is also expected to experience heavy rainfall and hail from April 25 to 29. Meanwhile, Balochistan will see rainfall from April 24 to 27, affecting cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad on April 25 and 26.

The anticipated heavy rainfall poses a risk of flooding in areas adjacent to Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, and the Kabul River from April 26 to 29. Additionally, there is a heightened risk of landslides in the upper KP, Kashmir, Murree, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Temperature Drop Expected

The substantial rainfall is likely to lead to a decrease in temperature across the country during this period.
