The Rawalpindi Oil Tankers Owners Association’s decision to halt the supply of petrol and diesel has triggered concerns about potential shortages in the twin cities and other regions.

According to reports, the supply suspension extends to areas such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir and even includes airports.

The association asserts that the supply will remain suspended until their demands are addressed. Despite issuing notices to PSO authorities and DC Islamabad, they claim to have received no response.

Their primary demand is the immediate implementation of the meterized system for filling tankers. The association accuses the district administration and authorities of breaching the agreement made on February 20, emphasizing that the supply will not resume until their demands are met.

Tanker owners and consumers alike are reportedly experiencing losses due to the alleged practice of filling tankers with lesser quantities of petrol and diesel under the new measurement scale.
