ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned yesterday’s heinous terrorist attack at a mosque in Herat, Afghanistan, resulting in loss of lives and injuries.
The people and government of Pakistan extend their heartfelt condolences to the people of Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families in this hour of grief, a Foreign Office statement said.
“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including despicable attacks on places of worship”, it added.
Earlier, two terrorists of the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were killed in an exchange of fire with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Bahawalpur.
CTD spokesperson said the slain terrorists Adeel alias Saifullah Khorasani and Zain alias Asadullah Khorasani were arrested from Hasilpur a few days ago.
According to the authorities, the two terrorists were being taken to Bahawalpur for the identification of weapons when their accomplices ambushed them and opened fire. Both terrorists were killed by bullets.
