NADRA Halts Issuance of Birth and Death Certificates in Islamabad
In Lahore, Pakistani citizens planning to work in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and other Zone B nations must obtain the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is responsible for issuing the NICOP to Pakistani citizens.
Any Pakistani citizen can apply for the NICOP for their chosen country and, in the case of dual nationality, can travel to Pakistan without needing a visa. Providing the passport number is mandatory to obtain the smart NICOP.
NADRA categorizes countries into Zone A and Zone B, each with its own fee structure. Gulf and Asian countries, which host a large number of overseas Pakistanis, mostly fall under Zone B.
As of June 2024, the online fee structure for NICOP remains unchanged for Zone B countries. The regular fee for a new Smart NICOP is $20, with an urgent processing fee of $30 and an executive processing fee of $40.
The NICOP fee in Pakistan is Rs 5,620 for the normal category, Rs 8,440 for urgent processing, and Rs 11,250 for the executive category offered by NADRA.
You can check the list of Zone B countries by visiting the Nadra website.
