
KBA President Aamir Warraich injured in attack
KARACHI: President Karachi Bar Association (KBA) Aamir Nawaz Warraich badly injured in attack by unidentified assailants near the City Station in Karachi.
According to police, the incident took place at a restaurant on II Chandigarh Road, during which six individuals on a motorcycle tortured Aamir Warraich and fled away from the scene.
Amir Nawaz Warraich said; “A murderous attack was carried out against me by six people. I want to give the message that we will not abandon the six canals issue and they’ll have to shut them down.”
He said a lawyers’ convention was scheduled for April 12 and would go ahead as planned. Warraich said he would not be filing a first information report for the incident.
The KBA president also threatened to shut the border between Sindh and Punjab if the decision for the canal project was not revoked within 72 hours.
On the other hand, Home Minister Sindh Zia Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the attack on Aamir Warraich and directed to arrest the elements involved.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Bar Council has announced a strike in courts across the province today against torture and violence against Aamir Warraich.
