India government has imposed ban on five-year-old song by Sikh singer Zara Gil simply for praising Pakistan.

Sikh singer Zara Gill, hailing from Indian Punjab, is going viral across social media not just for its melody, but for its message of love and historical connection with Pakistan.

It also draws a strong connection to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, who spent a significant part of his life in what is now Pakistan

The Indian government has reportedly imposed a ban on the song, attempting to suppress its circulation amid growing Indo-Pak tensions and the controversial Pahalgam attack, which many believe was politicised by Indian media.

Despite government efforts to restrict the song, Zara Gill’s track continues to surge in popularity on YouTube and other platforms, with listeners praising its emotional depth and courage. The music video also features the Kartarpur Corridor and other tourist spots in Pakistan.

It’s important to note that earlier India had also banned Pakistani news channels and social media accounts of Pakistani actors for revealing the truth about the Pahalgam incident.
