
Sri Lankan Military helicopter crashes
COLOMBO: A military helicopter crashed in Sri Lanka during a passing out parade ceremony, resulting in the deaths of six people.
According to international media reports, there were 12 people on board the Bell 212 military helicopter. The helicopter crashed into the waters of the Maduru Oya Reservoir.
Reports confirm that six people, including members of Sri Lanka’s Special Forces and Air Force personnel were killed while the other six were injured.
A spokesperson for the Sri Lankan Air Force stated that the helicopter was on a training flight related to a passing-out parade when the tragic accident occurred.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
