Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah’s celebration style in his debut match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has gone viral.
After taking a wicket, Naseem mimicked West Indian cricketer Sheldon Cottrell’s trademark salute celebration. Playing his first CPL match, Naseem dismissed Jayden Seales of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and marked the moment with the salute.
Representing St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, the pacer claimed two wickets in the match.

Naseem finished with figures of two wickets for just 20 runs in 3.1 overs, playing a key role in his team’s victory.
The salute, originally made famous by Cottrell several years ago, has been adopted by many bowlers over the years, but Naseem’s tribute to the West Indian legend on his home turf was particularly well-received.
The gesture combined a display of skill with a nod to a respected star, making his debut one to remember for cricket enthusiasts.
