RAWALPINDI: The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for seven days, banning protest rallies, demonstrations, and the use of loudspeakers during this period.

According to official details, police deployment is underway in various areas along Murree Road following the implementation of Section 144.

Key locations include Murree Chowk, Liaquat Bagh, Committee Chowk, Rehmanabad, Double Road, and Faizabad. Prisoner transport vans will also be stationed at major intersections as a precautionary measure.

On the other hand, the toughest security arrangements have been made in Adiala Jail and the surrounding areas on the occasion of a possible meeting with the founder Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf (PTI) and the August 5 protest call.

Rangers and jail security alerts have been tightened inside the jail. Jail authorities sent a letter to the police regarding security arrangements.
