
Medium flood
KARACHI: The water inflow at Kotri Barrage has further increased, with the Indus River currently experiencing a medium-level flood as the flow surged to 360,000 cusecs.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division in Lahore, water levels at Guddu and Sukkur barrages have started to recede, where low-level floods are being reported.
The current inflow at Guddu Barrage stands at 268,000 cusecs, while Sukkur Barrage is recording a flow of 310,000 cusecs.
A powerful flood wave passed through Naushahro Feroze, causing floodwater to enter Bakhri city near Kandiaro. The deluge inundated several houses and shops, while government primary and middle schools were also submerged.
Flood rally has affected 445 villages of 16 Union Councils(UCs) in the district. More than 15,000 people have been shifted to safer places.
Meanwhile, in the Sutlej River, Gunda Singhwala has a medium -sized flood, while Head Islam and Head Sulemanke have lower levels of floods.
