LAHORE:  The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has forecast rainfall across various districts of the province until September 5.

According to the PDMA, the expected spell of rain may further aggravate the flood situation in certain areas, raising concerns over potential intensification of flooding. The authorities have advised relevant departments to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures.

The PDMA has released the latest data on water levels at various headworks across Punjab’s major rivers.

According to the report, the water flow in the Chenab River is recorded at:468,000 cusecs at Marala Headworks, 339,470 cusecs at Khanki Headworks, 232,450 cusecs at Qadirabad Headworks, and 108,343 cusecs at Chiniot Bridge.

Meanwhile, at Trimmu Headworks, the water level stands at 355,744 cusecs. In the Ravi River, the flow has been measured at:71,010 cusecs at Jassar, 54,190 cusecs at Ravi Siphon, 53,630 cusecs at Shahdara, 117,655 cusecs at Balloki Headworks, and 193,470 cusecs at Sidhnai Headworks.

For the Sutlej River, the flow is reported as: 269,501 cusecs at GS Wala, 122,736 cusecs at Sulemanki Headworks, 95,727 cusecs at Islam Headworks, and 182,107 cusecs at Panjnad Headworks.

The PDMA continues to monitor the situation closely to manage potential flood threats.
