KARACHI: Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon has ordered an inquiry against four deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) over allegations of corruption and misuse of authority.

DIG Tanveer Alam Odho has been appointed as the inquiry officer.

The DSPs facing investigation include DSP Sohrab Goth Aurangzeb Khattak, DSP Kalakot Asif Munawar, DSP Kharadar Shabbir Ahmed, and DSP Eidgah Zafar Iqbal.

According to reports, the officers have been accused of facilitating land grabbing, smuggling, extortion from street vendors and tea stall owners, as well as providing backing to parking mafias, among other charges.

DSP Sohrab Goth Aurangzeb Khattak is accused of facilitating land and smuggling, while DSP Kalkot Asif Munawar is accused of extortion from drug dealers and parking mafia.

DSP Kharadar Rashbir Ahmed is accused of receiving extortions from the push carts and tea hotels, while DSP Eidgah Zafar Iqbal is accused of extortion from illegal parking and tea hotels, including illegal parking.

IG Sindh directed inquiry officer DIG Tanveer Alam Odho to submit an inquiry report by September 26.
