Spotify enters new tech era with lossless listening

Spotify has officially launched Lossless Listening, a new feature offering users access to high-resolution audio streaming for a more authentic and studio-quality sound experience.
What is Lossless Audio?
Unlike lossy formats (like MP3 or AAC) that discard some audio data during compression, lossless audio retains all the original recording details. As Spotify Studios producer and engineer Jack Mason explains:
“Lossless refers to when there’s no change between what you deliver to a streaming service and what the listener hears.”
How to Enable Lossless Listening on Spotify:
Open the Spotify app and tap your profile icon (top left).
Go to Settings & Privacy.
Tap on Media Quality.
Select Lossless Audio for Wi-Fi, cellular, and downloads as preferred.
Things to Know:
Available to select Premium subscribers in countries like the U.S., Australia, and Austria.
Supported on mobile, tablet, and desktop apps.
Lossless files are larger and may take slightly longer to play.
Bluetooth may not handle the full quality—wired headphones or speakers are recommended.
With this upgrade, Spotify joins the ranks of other platforms offering high-fidelity audio, aiming to deliver music as it was meant to be heard.
