Section 144 is being imposed across Sindh in connection with the procession of Chehlum Hazrat Imam Hussain.

According to details, notification for the implementation of section 144 has been issued across the province on the occasion of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s Chehlum.

According to the notification issued on Sunday, 20th October, a pillion riding is also banned in Sindh.

In addition, the movement and display of arms will also be banned on the occasion of Chelham, while the gathering of five or more persons and hate speeches have also been banned.

Earlier, recommendation to summon Army in Sindh Army to organize the Chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in peaceful environment across the province including Karachi.

According to the details, on the occasion of Chehlum, the Federal Home Ministry wrote a letter to Sindh Home Department asking for the army, Rangers and FC personnel owing to ensure foolproof security arrangements in the province.

As per the proposal, 26 companies will be called for 6 divisions across Sindh including Karachi while 3,000 198 Rangers will be deployed in five divisions across Sindh and 9 FC companies will be deployed in Karachi.

9 army companies sought security at Chehlum in Karachi City, three companies in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas, five army companies were summoned for Sukkur and Larkana division while a military company was summoned for Shaheed Benazir Division.
