The historic Kartarpur corridor has now been opened for the Sikh pilgrims.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived to inaugurate the historic Kartarpur Corridor, the first visa-free corridor between Pakistan and India.

Former Prime Minister of India and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu have also arrived zero line to attend the inauguration ceremony of historic Kartpur corridor.

On the occasion, Manmohan Singh said that it’s a historic day for the Sikh community.

The inauguration ceremony is held three days before the 550th birth anniversary Baba Guru Nanak to be celebrated on Nov. 12.

In a short span of one year, Pakistan has completed the construction, signed an agreement with India after tough negotiations and gifted the Kartarpur Corridor to Sikh community for promoting religious harmony.

Meanwhile, thousands of Sikh pilgrims are on their way to visit Baba Guru Nanak’s shrine- the founder of Sikhism, who died in the 16th Century.

Without a visa, Sikh pilgrims are allowed to visit the shrine on the 550th Birth Anniversary of the founder of Sikhism.

The corridor leads from the border straight to the Gurdwara.

On the other hand, The verdict on Babri Mosque land in Ayodhya, was also announced today by Supreme Court of India that the ownership of disputed religious site will be given to Hindus for the construction of a temple.

According to details, The five-judge bench, in a unanimous decision over the Babri Mosque site, asked the government to set up of a trust that will construct a temple for Hindu deity Ram.

The top court ruled on Saturday that Muslims will be given five acres of land at an alternative site in Ayodhya, in northern Uttar Pradesh state.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict in Babri Mosque case apparently reflects the bigoted ideology of Modi government.

In his statement today, he also expressed surprise as to why did the day of opening of Kartarpur Corridor was chosen by the Indian apex court for the verdict in Babri Mosque case.
