Akram Durani to preside over Rehbar Committee session today

The united opposition’s Rehbar Committee is all set to meet in Islamabad on Saturday (today).

The committee will discuss a host of political issues.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) leader Akram Durrani will preside over the meeting.

Akram Durani is the convener of the committee.

According to sources, the committee will discuss Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa’s tenure extension.

Special court verdict in Pervez Musharraf’s treason case and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) actions against opposition leaders will also come under discussion.

Members of the committee, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), will present their parties’ opinion on these issues.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan criticized the opposition Rehbar Committee.

She said that the Rehbar Committee is in serious need of supervision.

Taking to Twitter, SAPM Firdous Ashiq Awan had said that the opposition’s ploy to hold the election commission of Pakistan hostage to curry favors.

Earlier, Federal cabinet of Pakistan approved COAS tenure extension on November 26.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan headed a single agenda based cabinet meeting in Islamabad.

The members in the cabinet approved new summary for extension of the COAS.

During the meeting, members of federal cabinet made necessary amendment in extension act.

Therefore, the summary later sent to the President Dr. Arif Alvi for approval.

Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood addressed a presser in which he briefed media about the details of cabinet meeting.

However, he said that decision of extension is taken in current situation of Indian occupied Kashmir and Line of Control and the chief executive has a right to do it.
