ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that harmony among the institutions is the need of this time.

Addressing a press conference at Press Information Department (PID) along with Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Masood Khan on Tuesday, she said it is the need of the time to boost the morale of our soldiers.

While talking about judgement against former president and COAS Pervez Musharaf, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said Pakistan Army has been rendering unmatched sacrifices for regional peace and stability.

During the presser Dr Firdous also said, we are trying to overcome challenges through joint civil-military efforts.

When responding to a question, Attorney General Anwar Masood Khan said, according to the article 10 (A) of the constitution, fair trial is right of every citizen of the state but Pervez Musharaf was convicted in absentia.

Pervez Musharraf sentenced to death

Earlier today a special court ordered death sentence to former president Pervez Musharraf in High treason case.

A three-member bench of the special court handed death sentence to former president.

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth headed the bench and took up the high treason case.

Three of the two judges supported the verdict.

On behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, the prosecution team, led by Advocate Ali Zia Bajwa, prayed upon the court to amend the indictment against the former military ruler.
