The police officials on Tuesday have recovered the vehicle used for the kidnapping of Dua Nisar Mangi near Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.

Karachi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Tanveer Alam Odho and special investigative team of Dua Mangi case reached the spot.

According to sources, SSP Tanveer Alam said that the vehicle was found to be missing and that it would be executed.

The accused fled the vehicle but fingerprints were recovered from it, SSP said.

Police officials said that the found vehicle is very similar to the vehicle used Dua Mangi’s kidnapping, but both of its number plates have been dropped.

Dua Mangi was kidnapped in the Defence area of Karachi’s District South by alleged armed kidnappers in a car, who also shot and critically injured her male friend, Haris.

Dua Mangi who studied at Aisha Bawani Academy was associated with international women rights’ organization.

Soon after the kidnapping incident, various people posted on social media, informing the public and the concerned authorities of the incident.

An FIR had already been registered at Clifton’s Darakshan Police Station against unidentified men on behalf of the injured man’s father, Abdul Fatah.

District South police chief SSP Sheraz Nazeer told that the police have only one witness in this case, and they are also trying to obtain the CCTV footage of the crime scene to trace and arrest the suspected kidnappers.

A similar incident took place in the DHA where a girl was abducted in same manner and later released after her family paid a handsome ransom to the kidnappers

The injured person in his initial statement told the police that they were on their way to Bara Bukhari when four men in a car abducted his friend and fled after shooting him.

SSP Nazeer said the boy was shot in the neck which penetrated into his chest.

The doctors were trying to save his life while the parents of both the youngsters have been informed about the incident.

The police were also looking to record the statements of the families and friends for any possible clues about the abductors.
