PM Imran discusses media matters with Special Assistant Yousuf Mirza

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan in Islamabad today, Special Assistant on Media Yousuf Baig Mirza.

In the meeting, matters regarding media field were discussed.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had emphasized the need to utilise the digital media as a tool to portray positive image of Pakistan.

Aswell as Islam besides spreading the voice of oppressed people of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) across the globe.

While meeting a delegation of youth from different fields and digital media, the premier also deliberated over opportunities for youths in the digital media sector, allied challenges and their resolution.

He viewed that the digital media could effectively highlight Pakistan’s immense potential in the tourism sector.

It should noted that on 28th of this month, Imran Khan issued special directives to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to ensure the protection of rights of the print and electronic media workers.

PM Imran Khan took a major step by directing the information ministry to block issuance of government advertisement to those media houses not clearing salary dues of its workers.

The premier directed the ministry to put a condition for the issuance of government advertisement to only media houses that cleared all dues of its employees, sources added.

Moreover On January 23, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan, had said the federal government bringing a new media policy which will transform the journalism into a powerful institution.

Furthermore Firdous Ashiq Awan, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad today, said journalism now shaped into an institution that will have to empower other institutions of the country.

However She announced to bring a new media policy that will not restricted to advertisements only.
