Coronavirus: Country Wide tally crosses 1000

The total number of confirmed cases in Pakistan due to the deadly coronavirus has crossed 1000 with 413 cases in Sindh; 115 in Balochistan; 296 in Punjab; 117 in K-P; 80 in Gilgit-Baltistan; 15 in Islamabad; and one in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the details, three new cases have been reported in Sindh and five in Balochistan.

One new case each has been reported in Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad.

A planeload of medical supplies with a five million face masks, including N95 masks, arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

The consignment also has 50,000 testing kits.

A spokesman for NDMA said the supplies have been sent to help the country with the coronavirus outbreak.

The supplies were received at the airport by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Globally, 196 countries have been affected. Though the deadly infestation has been contained by the Chinese government in Wuhan, the virus has now spread elsewhere, especially in Europe and the United States, with the World Health Organisation declaring Europe as the new epicentre of the viral disease.
