KP Bar Council holds strike against CJP Gulzar’s decision

Khyber Pakhtun Khwa bar council on Tuesday has boycotted all court proceedings as a step against Chief Justice of Pakistan for not considering Justice Seth for elevation to Top court.

As per details lawyers boycotted all court proceedings in KP over not elevating Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth to Apex Court.

The K-P Bar Council with majority took decision of holding a strike to protest against CJP Gulzar Ahmed for not considering Justice Seth for elevation to the apex court.

However CJP Gulzar nominated Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The K-P bar council believes that its unfair not to elevate judges on basis of seniority principle.

Meanwhile, the K-P Bar Council in its statement also wondered why judges not elevated from other provinces where the number of judges lesser than in Punjab.
