Coronavirus: Govt extends prevailing nationwide lockdown till May 9

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said the current lock down has resulted in controlling the spread of coronavirus in the country.

He was addressing media in Islamabad.

Asad Umar said pace of coronavirus spread is slowing down in the country due to effective measures of the government.

Asad Umar said further decisions will made regarding lockdown and provision of better health facilities in upcoming week.

Planning Minister said government is working to improve the medical facilities and steps also taken to increase the testing capability for Coronavirus and providing more ventilators to hospitals.

He said the safety of medical staff is our prime responsibility and provision of protective equipment ensured for this purpose.
