Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s spokesman has said that the rumors circulating regarding the health of the former president are false.

In a statement released on social networking site Twitter, Amir Fida Paracha, a spokesman of former President Asif Ali Zardari, said that “social media rumors about the health of former President Asif Ali Zardari are fake.”

He said that Asif Ali Zardari’s health was improving due to the prayers of his family and sympathizers.

Aamir Fida Paracha said that Asif Ali Zardari was twinging like an arrows in the hearts of the enemies of democracy.

Note that there were rumors on social media about the health of former President Asif Ali Zardari that his health was deteriorating.

It may be recalled that the PPP co-chairman was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court on June 10, 2019 on charges of corruption through fake bank accounts and embezzlement in financing for Park Lane Pvt. Ltd. and Parthenon (Pvt.) Ltd. He was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Asif Zardari, who was later arrested on money laundering charges, was remanded in judicial custody and transferred to jail, where he was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after his condition deteriorated.

Asif Zardari was shifted to hospital due to various health problems including back pain, weakness and anxiety.

At the recommendations of the doctors, Pims Hospital was declared a sub-jail for the former president.

Dr Asif Wasim Khawaja, media coordinator of PIMS, had quoted the medical board as saying that “Asif Ali Zardari should not be transferred due to dizziness, heart ailment and bladder problems.”

Media reports said that Asif Zardari was not taken to court due to ill health.

Later, former President Asif Ali Zardari was released on bail from PIMS Hospital on December 12, 2019 and transferred to Karachi and was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi for further examination.
