CAA finalizes arrangements to resume five airport operations for domestic flights

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has finalized arrangements for the restarting of the domestic flights across Pakistan from today (Saturday).

Karachi International airport’s domestic lounge carries awareness banners about social distancing. The banners remind to maintain at least two-meter distance between the passengers.

Wearing mask has been declared mandatory for the passengers entering the airport. While, the Airport Security Force (ASF) has issued precautionary guidelines to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Moreover, As the government decides to let five major airports resume operations, limited domestic flight operations will also resume in the country.

The five airports will be Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that strict SOPs should be followed to ensure passengers’ safety.

The authority said that no visitors shall be allowed at the airports and the drivers will have to stay inside the vehicles

Yesterday, The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announces to extend international flight operations till May 31 as per the government’s directions.

In a tweet on Friday, CAA stated: “As per the decision of the GoP, the suspension of International flight operations as effected earlier has been extended upto Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 2359 hours PST. Remaining provisions as applicable to the suspension of Int flights reflected in previous orders remain unchanged.”
