After the government has allowed Emirates to operate special flights from Dubai to Pakistan, the airline carrying 251 passengers arrived at Islamabad.

Emirates had been permitted to operate Dubai-Islamabad flight to bring back stranded Pakistanis. The special flight EK-613 carrying 251 Pakistanis arrived at Islamabad International Airport and later departed for Dubai.

All the passengers after their arrival were shifted to different quarantine facilities for medical tests following Coronavirus rules.

Emirates airline had already activated precautionary measures at Dubai International Airport to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

Likewise, the civil aviation authorities had already put in place all possible measures to ensure the safety of passengers and airlines crew against the spread of Covid-19.

Moreover, social distancing and other health measures are being strictly implemented at airports.

On the other hand, the government has also allowed Egypt Air to operate a relief flight on May 23 to bring back stranded Pakistanis to their homeland.

Around 50 Pakistanis will be carried by the special flight from Cairo to Islamabad.

Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had permitted to operate domestic flights across Pakistan, operation two from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad and other from Lahore to Karachi.

As per the SOPs and health precautionary guidelines issued by the government, each alternate seat was left empty during PIA flights to prevent the spread of the virus.

However, the flights resumed with higher prices, resulting to be the burden of empty seats on the passengers.

A one-way flight from Karachi to Lahore costs Rs21,815. A flight to Islamabad is priced the same, according to the PIA website.
