Pakistan International Airline (PIA)’s special flight has returned the country carrying Pakistanis who were stuck in Turkey. According to the details, 284 stranded Pakistanis in Turkey have returned home via PIA flight PK-784.

When the flight landed at Islamabad International Airport, all incoming  passengers were screened and medically examined in accordance with the rules and regulations.

According to airport sources, Samples of all passengers have been taken following Coronavirus precautionary measure. The passengers have been transferred to the quarantine center by special medical teams, source said.

Earlier, PIA had been permitted to operate direct flights to the United States (US) for the first time in Pakistan’s history.

PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik seek permission to operate PIA special flights to bring back stuck Pakistanis in US due to Coronavirus outbreak. He appealed for the special flight operation by writing a letter to the US ambassador and the State Department.

The permission was granted by the US Transport Department on Pakistan’s request to repatriate its stranded citizens in the US. US allows as many as 12 direct flights to PIA to bring back stranded Pakistanis.
