‘KP fully implements precautionary guidelines issued by WHO’, Ajmal Wazir

Adviser to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ajmal Wazir said that the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines are being implemented in the province.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Ajmal Wazir paying tribute to KP’s frontline doctors said that our two frontline heroes Dr Aurangzeb and Dr Azam laid down their lives for the nation.

In the National Coordination Committee (NCC), Prime Minister Imran Khan is moving forward in consultation with all the provinces to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease.

Standing still like a pillar on the frontline, our ministers and chief secretaries also become a victim of the deadly virus, he said.

He further added that due to the efforts of the Chief Minister, the arrival of Pakistanis from abroad has started from Peshawar Airport.

There is currently no shortage of ventilators and beds in the province’s hospitals, Wazir said.

Moreover, President Dr Arif Alvi has termed the doctors as heroes who lost their lives battling against coronavirus pandemic.

In a tweet on Monday on the death of pathologist Dr Aurangzeb and paediatrician Dr Muhammad Azam Khan due to COVID-19, the President expressed deep grief.

He also said the nation acknowledged their sacrifice. The heroes did their best to help people survive the dangerous disease.

The President also offered condolences to the families of the deceased doctors.
